We are KaleCoAuto (https://www.kalecoauto.com), the internet’s premier source for automotive satire and mythical maintenance parts.

The Short Version

We are here to make jokes, not steal your identity. We don’t sell your data. If you buy merchandise, that transaction is handled by a third party. If you sign up for our emails, we only use it to send you emails.

Merchandise & Payments

We do not process payments or ship merchandise directly from this website. All merchandise sales are handled by Fourthwall. When you purchase a shirt, sticker, or other physical good, you are subject to Fourthwall’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not have access to your full credit card number or financial institution data.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

  • Note: If you leave a comment, it is public. Don’t post your social security number in the comments section of a joke article.

The “KaleCo Club” (Mailing List)

If you subscribe to our “Fan Club” (email list), your email address is stored solely for the purpose of sending you updates, newsletters, or new content notifications. We do not sell this list to third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email.

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again. These last for one year.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically. If you are on our email list, we retain your email until you unsubscribe.

Your Rights

You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you (e.g., your email address on the list, or a comment you wrote). This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
